J1 Visa:

• You need to be between the ages of 18 and 28. For Oenology you need to be between the ages of 21 and 35 (Older applicants will be considered on a case to case basis).
• Be able to understand and communicate in English well.
• Hold a current drivers license and an international driving permit.
• Good mental and physical health.
• Mature, flexible, committed open to new ideas and cultures.
• Have a valid passport.
• Have no dependent children.
• Hold comprehensive travel insurance for duration of trip that meets the US Government requirement.

J1 Visa:

• Trainee: must be ages 18 to 30* with 5 years of experience. Older applicants will be considered on a case by case basis.
• Intern: current student or within 12 months of graduation.
• Programs are up to 12 months.
• Oenology trainees must be aged between 21 and 35*.

The J1 Intern ProgramCurrently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a degree or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the USA, orGraduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their exchange visitors program start.J1 Trainee ProgramA degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in their occupational field acquired outside the USA, or Five years of work experience outside the USA in their occupational fields.
